More 4th Ed. Errata at Wizard’s?!?

March 7, 2009 by

We had some in January, but it seems, (unless I’m confused) that Wizard’s rolled their stealth and quietly updated some things on Wednesday. Updated on 3/4/09  were: Draconomicon, The Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, Martial Powers, and the Adventurer’s Vault. Find it here

EN Publishing has announced that their 12 part 3.5 campaign, “War of the Burning Sky” is coming to 4th ed.  They are releasing a hardback of the campaign for 3.5, and with the release of the new GSL they are updating it for 4th ed. I am excited about this, I’ve read a few of […]

Ye Old Map Maker

I stumbled accross this webpage and thought it was worth pointing it out.  It’s called  YeOldMapMaker.com and that’s just it.  You’re given a blank grid to play with, and a small collection of symbols, including outdoor stuff as well as indoors.  You can then place the symbols unto the grid and make a battlemap.   I’m not […]

The PHB2 table of contents was released by WOTC yesterday.  I haven’t read much about it, so I figured I’d post it here just in case.  Regardless, you can find it here. Chapter 1.  Character Races (Deva, Gnome, Goliath, Half-Orc, Shifter) Chapter 2.  Classes (Avenger, Barbarian, Bard, Druid, Invoker, Shaman, Sorcerer, Warden) Chapter 3.  Character […]

Modifying the way I track conditions

So after using my paper condition tokens, I switched over to Alea Tools because they are probably the best thing out there right now for the 4th ed. DM looking for a solution to the game’s bookkeeping.  I also use them for Ranger’s Quarry’s, Paladin’s Divine Challenges, etc… But last session I did something different with […]

Visiting a medieval town

I had the beautiful experience of visiting Chester, England today.  It borders Wales, on the River Dee.   It dates back to the Roman Era, with some businesses even having Roman baths under them, and Roman ruins on display at parts of the city.  It also boasts a city wall in excellent condition, the best in England I […]

Visiting gaming stores while overseas…

February 25, 2009 by

My job brought me across the Atlantic  for a few days and I’m currently in Manchester, England.  I decided that since I had some downtime this afternoon, I’d check out some gaming/comic/geek stores within walking distance  of my hotel. Surprisingly, there are more stores that I could  walk to, than there are back home where […]

NewbieDM Review: Alea Tools

February 10, 2009 by

Taking a spin with the Alea Tools Stackable Magnetic Markers I had the pleasure of running my regular D&D game with a set of Alea Tools Magnetic Markers, similar to both the Office Max magnets I’ve been using, and my paper condition tokens, and I can say that without a doubt, I am never going […]

Does being good matter in the large scheme of things?

I was reading a little about death and religion in 4th Ed. and a thought occured to me. Most people in our world, I will assume, are religious; and I’m not a religious expert by any means, so I will stick to what I sort of know, being a catholic. Now, people who are believers […]

Your PC’s life events in D&D

February 5, 2009 by

It seems that the characters that I’ve come accross throughout my years of playing D&D have existed for simply one purpose:  defeat the evil forces at work.  That’s it.  Sure, my dwarf was always “So and so… son of XXXX…”, but who was XXXX?  Most of my DM’s through the years never ran campaigns that […]
