With this post I’m not talking about a Dragon’s fart affecting greenhouse gasses and causing global warming in your campaign world. I’m talking about truly making an encounter with a solo a memorable one, using the environment around them. Talking D&D on twitter the other day (hmm, I write that a lot, don’t I?) I […]
On this episode of the minicast, I am joined by Chris Sims, a former D&D game designer for Wizards of the Coast. Together, we attempt to help a listener who asks about how to best incorporate published adventures into his campaign world, along with how to bring in pre-published npc’s and location names. WINNER: The Winner was Jeff Foley, selected via random.org from the pool of comments here and twitter messages. Thanks for entering and keep looking out for future contests. —————————————————— Back with another giveaway, and this one should be popular, because it involves miniatures. Minis are good, but free minis are even better. And since these […]
The other day on twitter there was a discussion on how much background info a DM needs from his characters to start a campaign with. There were some DM’s who seem to enjoy a lot of background stuff, while others were more than happy with a few lines. Me? I don’t need a lot. Just […]

I created this “calendar” type initiative tracker to work with tokens, where you would just place a token representing characters and monsters in their appropriate squares, based on their roll. You […]
I'll assume that at some point in our collective gaming careers, we've all been guilty of this. Heck, I know I have on more than one occasion.
