It’s been 5 months to the day since I released rpgKids v1.5 and I just want to thank everyone who purchased it, and took the time to comment on it, send me a note, or review it on their site. As of today it’s still one of the top 50 selling items on rpgnow.com, it also became a popular silver pick on their ranking system, and this speaks to the need for products such as this one. So I’ll say this loudly so that the “professional” rpg industry can hear me: PARENTS REALLY, REALLY WANT TO GAME WITH THEIR KIDS!!!
One of the main questions I get asked is “when are we getting more adventures?”, so I am here to answer that today, (and give myself a hard deadline while I’m at it). I will be releasing an adventure pack in March, with 4 all new scenarios for rpgKids play. The date, and it is fitting since I created this game for my daughter, will be March 22nd the day of her birthday. There will be pirates, wizards, dinosaurs, and unicorns and fairies. What kid doesn’t like that stuff? The adventure pack will include all new tokens and maps too, so it’ll have everything you need to play.
Keep checking www.rpgkids.com for more information, and I hope you take a look at it once it’s released!
Thanks!
ps… like the new rpgKids logo? It was designed by my friend @theweem, a great guy and D&D blogger/community member. Find his stuff at www.theweem.com

This is great news! As I’ve said to you on twitter and email (but I’ll repeat it here so the rest of the world knows) my boys LOVE RPGKids (although we just call it D+D). My four and seven year old loved defeating the wizard Gelleron (who, in my world, Eats Pigs and thus snorts a lot) and are now concocting a cold medication for the Sneezing Dragon.
I am looking forward to the new adventures, as I am having to run a second game for my older boy whose attention span is longer than the younger. Both boys together are good for about 2 encounters/30 minutes. My older son wants MORE MORE MORE! So he’ll get it in a one-on-one game. But more adventures is a good thing to help me with this! 😀 Thanks for a great game!

I have to give you a big thumbs up on this project. Over all, it seems like it’s been a big hit and it’s just an awesome idea.
Keep it up!

My kids are still a little too young to play, but i cant wait till my little girl can get that little bit more language and attention span enough to play 😀
I’m mostly posting to give a massive shoutout to the new logo. Looks amazing!

My soon-to-be-stepson (5 years old and reading at 2nd grade level) and I have been playing RPGkids *constantly* since I introduced it to him. Every time I get to see him, it’s the first thing he asks about. Thank you. THANK YOU.

Hi Newbie DM,
This looks really cool. I’ll have to steal my friends kids for an evening to have a go 🙂
Btw, have you thought about using something like http://www.e-junkie.com to distribute RPG Kids on your website? It would mean any customers coming through here could get an instant download. It does starts at $5 a month, but as long as your selling 2 copies a month then it would pay for itself.
I look forward to the release of the new adventures, and I hope you’re keeping well.

Will this update be replacing the current version, or adding to it?

Addign to it. I meant update as in “let me let you know what’s going on”, not updating the game. I’m just releasing an adventure pack, that’s all. The game stays the same, and I have no plans to change it. it’s fine as is. Thans for coming by and asking!

Most of the art and writing is done. My real job has been kicking my ass lately! It’s more than 85% done though, so a few more drawings, compiling and done. Almost.
