So Arcane Power came out today, and the errata team has already issued its first batch.
Nice.

And all nerfs besides one. Wow. (Unless there are contradictions elsewhere in the book that list the powers as intended – I don’t know, I don’t own it.

Hah! I knew this would happen. Interestingly, they haven’t fixed the bugs (or quirks) of the Archlich yet.

On the one hand, it’s disappointing. They’ve got enough people working in it that they call it the Research and Development department…it’s not just one guy going through and saying “Yeah, that sounds about right.” Such simple things as 1d8 vs 2d8 should have been caught before release, and they seem to be getting a bit sloppy. Though, to their credit, it could have been something as simple as the editor not knowing that 2d8 was a typo.
On the other hand, really, I don’t pay attention to the errata. 1d8 vs 2d8, making this skill daily rather than encounter, making that skill effect everyone but you rather than everyone, blah blah blah ad nausaeum…it doesn’t break game mechanics enough to worry about. If you are worrying enough (with the exception of the higher level RPGA DMs) to keep updated 3-ring binders of errata…you’re missing the point of D&D.
