I’ll make this post short and to the point. You’ll rarely see me use the blog for anything other than D&D stuff, but this story has affected me a bit, and I want to put it out there in case you haven’t heard.
There is a gentleman who has a blog called Vulcan Stev’s Database. He blogs about games, movies, his family, and sadly, his wife’s cancer fight. Well, it seems like her fight is now over.
I’m not sure of it’s due to the fact that I’m both a husband and a parent, but reading his posts has really, really touched me.
I wanted to point you in the direction of a page where a virtual donation box has been set up, just in case you’d like to help Steve out.
I don’t know him well. In fact, I don’t know him at all, really. But based on his writings, beliefs, and the courage he’s shown through all this, he seems like one of the good guys.
Here is the place to go for donations
I don’t want to sound too preachy, but if you’ve ever found a tutorial here useful, or maybe a download, do me the favor and go leave a small donation. A man and his kids lost a wife and mother. I can’t really imagine what that must feel like.
Thanks. And now back to D&D.

Like you, I don’t know him that well but I’ve been following his story for a while now. Knowing how much I love my husband and how lost I would be without him, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain he is going through. Normally, I don’t like to mention when I donate, but in hopes of convincing others to give a few dollars, I am willing to mention it now. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider helping Steve. Regardless, let’s show him how great of a community we are.

Well said, Newbie. Sarah, I’m with you. I’d be lost without my wife of 20 years. I kissed her and it was just a little bit difficult to let her go when she dropped me off at the office morning, knowing that the prognosis for Steve’s wife was not good.
All you gamers out there…hug your wives, husbands, children a little closer today. Even if you can’t donate, show the world the strength of love and family.
Peace to Steve and Virginia and their families.

You guys are awesome.
As of this writing the fund is approaching $950.
I’d like to think some of the readers of this blog had something to do with it.
