My rpgKids followup…

April 4, 2014 by

I’ve been working here and there on a follow up to rpgKids, and I’m slowly getting to the finish line… I launched a webpage for the project today, so I thought I’d link it here. There’s not much there but a description of the setting/story of the game. Soon, when I have more to share […]

The GAMA Trade Show is currently taking place in Vegas (where Greg Leeds, WOTC CEO is the keynote speaker), and some news regarding D&D 5th Ed. came out following WOTC’s presentation. No mention was made of a release date or price point, ignoring what we all know was leaked from the Barnes and Noble website, […]

Working on a new kids’ game

February 11, 2014 by

I’ve been working on a new kids’ game the past few months, and it’s finally starting to take shape. I’m pretty excited about it. As opposed to rpgKids, which was basically a pretty simple ruleset with no story attached, this game will have a story built into it, and not be as combat focused as […]

So as most of us thought, the release date for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Ed. has been announced, and the game lands on the nebulous “Summer 2014″ date… which is clearly a Gencon launch. Here’s the cryptic release… Why cryptic? Let’s talk after you read it… Wizards of the Coast Announces Thrilling Dungeons & Dragons […]

Lately I’ve been on kind of a Fate kick. I picked up both Fate Core, and Fate Accelerated Edition from Evil Hat Productions, and I’ve been digging into them all week. For those of you that follow this blog mostly from the D&D side of the street, and aren’t aware of Fate, it’s an rpg […]

I was invited to play Marvel Heroic Roleplaying by my friend Mark, from the Dice Monkey blog and the Marvel-centric Plot Points blog.  The game was run on Google+ hangouts, and since I had never played Marvel before I jumped at the chance. I have a lot of friends who have been a part of the […]

Here’s my attempt at a quick and dirty conversion of the introductory adventure for the 2nd Edition Revised and Expanded version of West End Games SW RPG, The Pirates of Prexiar, into the new FFG SW system… I am not going to reproduce the whole adventure, just the relevant bits. This isn’t just a blog […]

I received the new Star Wars Edge of the Empire Beginner’s game in the mail yesterday, and thought I’d share with you the contents of the box. I can’t speak yet to the actual playing experience, that won’t happen for another week or so, but I can comment on the contents of the game.  It’s worth noting that I […]

Found this on Amazon: “Storm Over Baldur’s Gate: Sundering Adventure 1″ Are we looking at the first dndnext adventure? There’s no system in the product description, but it’s fair to say that 4e is dead when it comes to product releases… Interesting times….. Releases in 2013, but dndnext is more than likely arriving in 2014……
